Growing up, being told to make my bed was something I heard every day. Now that I’m an adult (and have a family of my own!), making my bed is something I do every day. It’s a small ritual that helps me start my day and makes our room feel clean.
5 Reasons to Make Your Bed Daily
Let’s be honest – making your bed every day is something that takes seconds to do but so few people actually do it. Here are 5 reasons to make your bed daily.
It Starts Your Day Off Right
Good habits are key to a productive day! When you start your day off with a good habit, other small wins will follow you throughout the day. Plus, if you don’t get as much as you hoped done throughout the day, you’ll feel good knowing you got a small, yet important, task done.
It Encourages You to Keep the Rest of Your Room Tidy
Making your bed instantly makes you feel like the rest of your room is put together! Picking up your pillows off the floor and putting them where they’re supposed to be (on your bed!), you help clear your floor of clutter. Once you have your bed made, you’ll feel an urge to get the rest of your room in order!
Promotes Better Everyday Habits
This goes off the first point! When you start your day off by completing a small but important task, you set the mood for the rest of the day and that’s something you’ll want to keep up! One productive task turns to another, which turns to another and before you know it, you’re implementing more productive habits in your day-to-day life.
It Improves Your Mood
Having less clutter in your room will help reduce stress and improve your mood! When you’re in a good mood and have low stress levels, it’s easier to get a good night’s sleep. Which, is crucial when you have kids!
It’s a Great Way to Show Off Your Bedding
Your bedding is one of the pieces in your room that pulls the design together and you want to show that off! If you’re not making your bed, you won’t get the full effect that your bedding has on your room. I’m also a big advocate for making your bed because you never know who will end up in your room! If you’re having people over and someone accidentally goes in your room instead of the bathroom, you want to make sure it looks good.
