My Fall Makeup Routine

I am typically a creature of habit in a lot of areas of my life, but when it comes to my makeup routine I do like to switch it up every once in a while, especially when the seasons change! I find that my skin and the things it needs change with the seasons, so it only makes sense to switch up the products I’m using.

If you’ve been looking for new fall makeup to try, I’m sharing my current favorites!

My Fall Makeup Routine

I still have oily skin, but I also have a few select spots that get drier in the winter, so you’ll see me incorporate a mix of matte and dewy products into my fall makeup.

Step By Step Fall Makeup Routine

Skincare

I start by prepping my skin with this dewy serum from Tatcha. As I said, I have fairly oily skin, but get some dry spots in the fall and winter. I start off with something moisturizing to even out my skin before I start adding more matte products. It also really helps add an overall brightening and more plump look to your skin.

Primer

I love this primer from Nars because it’s a 2-in-1 product and the less I have to worry about applying, the better! Not only does it keep my makeup in place all day, but it has sunscreen in it. Sunscreen is a step that you don’t want to miss in your routine, even in the cooler months! It also pairs really well with my serum to give my skin a brighter look.

Foundation

Again, the foundation is one of those products that are almost always going to have to have some sort of mattifying power for me. The majority of my skin is on the oily side, so this one from Huda Beauty works great to keep the oil at bay throughout the day.

Bronzer

If you’re a cream product lover like me, you’re going to love this one! This is a fairly new product from Nars that I have been obsessed with. It gives the most natural, sun-kissed-looking glow with little effort. It’s also easily buildable if you’re going for a more intense look.

Eyeshadow Palette

The color story in this palette is perfect for my fall makeup routine! It has some warm neutrals as well as some warm berry tones to add a little bit of dimension. Don’t get me wrong, I love a full-sized palette just as much as the next girl, but sometimes something a little smaller is easier for me to work with on the morning that I’m quickly trying to get ready and run out the door.

Mascara

I’m going to call this mascara a little miracle in a tube because that’s exactly what it is! It gives me amazing volume without clumping. I feel like with other products you usually can’t successfully have both. Can you tell I’m a big fan of Nars yet?

Liquid Lipstick

Is it even a fall makeup routine without classic liquid lipstick? In my humble opinion, no, it just isn’t. Dose Of Colors has one of the best liquid lipstick formulas on the market! It’s comfortable, doesn’t feel dry, and lasts all day – even through eating. They also have about 30 color options in this formula, so you’re bound to find a shade that’s right for you!
